Dear Clients, Employees, Shareholders and Friends:
Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom and 53 Years of Community
On June 10, 1776, the Continental Congress appointed a committee of five to draft what would become the Declaration of Independence. The committee included Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Livingston, and Roger Sherman. Jefferson, the primary author, drafted the Declaration of Independence between June 11 and 28. Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, and this year marks America’s 250th anniversary.
This document has been a guiding principle for our nation for 250 years, declaring “certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” For fifty-three of these years, Citizens National Bank (CNB) has helped our clients, employees, and shareholders pursue those unalienable rights. We are proud to be a locally owned community bank in the United States of America, deeply rooted in the great State of Tennessee, proudly serving our neighbors across Sevier, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, and McMinn counties.
Technology Backed by Authentic Individuals
It is hard to imagine what life in 1776 would have been like but, needless to say, we have come a long way due to hard work, ingenuity, and the freedom to chase dreams. Every year I write about the frantic pace of change in technology. The latest shift is artificial intelligence (AI). It is everywhere and will be prevalent in society before too long.
AI is powerful, but impersonal. It can be flattering, but phony. We value being authentic, and we believe our customers value that too. Our primary source of “AI” will always be our people: Authentic Individuals. They help our customers every day in ways that technology simply cannot replicate.
Technology, however, is critical to what we do. Our online and mobile banking apps are exceptional, providing the tools our customers need to operate – whether it is an individual paying a bill from the comfort of their couch or a business utilizing our robust treasury management products. These platforms are regularly being updated to ensure our customers enjoy a seamless, secure experience.
Protecting Your Financial Security
Unfortunately, modern scams and financial fraud often rely heavily on technology. While CNB has deployed strong, sophisticated capabilities to detect and mitigate fraud, one of the most important lines of defense is you.
Please protect your information. Never share your passwords, usernames, passkeys, or other personal information. If you are ever asked to do so and feel unsure of what to do, stop and call CNB directly. We are always here to help.
Rolling Up Our Sleeves: Our 2025 Community Impact
As always, investing in our communities remains at the core of who we are. Our employees donate a tremendous amount of time volunteering and love every minute. They, along with the communities we serve, embody the great American spirit of rolling up our sleeves and helping folks in need. I am proud of their work both inside the bank and out in the neighborhoods.
In 2025, our collective impact included:
- The Volunteer Powerhouse: Our team volunteered over 700 hours with local schools, charities, and civic groups, showing up when and where our neighbors needed us most.
- The Financial Reinvestment: We reinvested more than $305,000 back into our communities through local sponsorships, nonprofit donations, and civic grants.
- The Community Breadth: We proudly partnered with and supported over 100 local non-profit organizations, youth sports leagues, and community foundations.
- The Economic Engine: To directly fuel regional economic growth, we funded over $452 million in local small business and residential loans and lines of credit.
Looking Ahead With Financial Strength
Year after year, we are able to donate and volunteer because our customers choose CNB as their trusted financial institution. Our strong performance this past year reflects not only the stability of our branch footprint but also our growing regional impact as we actively fund new commercial loans for clients in Bradley and Hamilton counties.
In the following pages, you will find certain financial information and ratings highlighting our performance in 2025, as well as our continued financial strength. We continue to be a 5-Star rated bank by BauerFinancial – the highest rating available, indicating strong capital, earnings, and stability.
Thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and dedication to CNB.
Sincerely,
Jason A. Holliman
