Stop Account Takeover Fraud Before It Starts

Fraudsters are after your account. They pose as your financial institution to trick you into handing over personal information. Once they have it, they can lock you out and steal your money.

How It Happens

  • It often starts with a fake text or email claiming to be from your bank. You might see a warning about a suspicious transaction and be asked to quickly confirm details.
  • Next, the fraudster might call you directly, pretending to cancel the payment. They’ll ask for personal information – like your login credentials or a security code – so they can “verify your identity.”

How to Stay Safe

  • Ignore unexpected texts, emails, and calls asking for personal or account details. Citizens National Bank (CNB) will never ask for sensitive information this way.
  • Don’t click on links or call numbers from suspicious messages.
  • If in doubt, contact CNB directly using the phone number printed on the back of your debit card or the number listed on our website at CNBTN.com.

If you think you’ve been targeted, contact Citizens National Bank immediately.
